Offline meditation: a quiet session without a connection
Once Stille is installed, all meditation sounds and artwork are already on your iPhone. Starting a session needs no Wi-Fi, mobile data, or separate audio download.
Included audio means one less thing to prepare
Some apps offer offline listening after you download particular sessions. Stille includes its entire small sound catalog in the app itself: three complete ten-minute recordings and the finishing gong. There is no download queue to manage before going offline.
That makes the same start button useful at home, away from Wi-Fi, or with mobile data switched off. Installing or updating the app still requires access to the App Store; offline use begins after installation.
A quick check before you settle in
- Open Stille and make sure your phone’s media volume is comfortable.
- Check where audio will play: the phone speaker, connected headphones, or your selected audio output.
- Tap Meditate. Lock your screen if you prefer to put the phone aside.
If you use airplane mode, check that your chosen headphones remain connected. Stille uses the iPhone’s audio output; it does not manage Bluetooth connections for you.
Offline does not mean interruption-proof
A phone call or disconnected headphones can interrupt playback. Stille pauses the sound and countdown together and waits for you to resume. You can also pause from the Lock Screen. Force-quitting the app ends playback; relaunching does not recover that interrupted session.
When the ten minutes finish
The gong is bundled too, so the session can finish without contacting a server. Your listening history is stored locally. There is no login to renew and no session activity upload.
For the full start-to-finish routine, read the ten-minute meditation guide. For the details of local storage, see meditation without an account.
