A simple ten-minute meditation, from start to gong

Find somewhere you can sit comfortably, start a ten-minute session, and let the sound be something to return to. You do not have to make your mind go blank.

Before you press Meditate

Choose a place where you can pause what you are doing. Sit in a way you can comfortably maintain; there is no special pose required by the app. Set your listening volume to a comfortable level. Headphones are optional.

If notifications tend to pull you away, you can enable your iPhone’s Focus mode before starting. Stille does not silence other apps for you. You can also hide Stille’s countdown in Settings if watching the remaining time is distracting.

Start, then let the phone be

Tap Meditate. Stille selects a bundled recording and starts ten minutes of playback. Watch the water animation if you enjoy it, soften your gaze, or lock the screen. The sound continues with the phone locked.

There are no spoken instructions during the session. Try noticing the sound as it changes. When you realize you are planning dinner or replaying a conversation, return your attention to what you can hear. You can do that as many times as you need.

If you need a break

Pause whenever you want. Pausing stops the audio and countdown together, so ten minutes means ten minutes of playback, not ten minutes including interruptions. You can also end the session early. There is no need to force yourself to finish.

Let the ending be simple

After a full session, a soft gong rings and fades. Take a moment, then tap Done. Stille does not ask you to rate how you feel. An early exit does not play the completion gong.

Is ten minutes the right length?

Ten minutes is Stille’s design choice, not a claim about an ideal dose of meditation. If you want shorter or longer sessions, a timer or another app may suit you better. If you want a teacher talking you through a technique, look for spoken guidance; this app provides sound and space.
